Where to start?

Starting is the worst. It's filled with lots of awkwardness and self doubt. It's better to just close your eyes, block out everything and just jump right in. It's very overwhelming to start planning your own wedding. Maybe you're ready to make the dive head first, but you can't seem to find the edge of the cliff? It's already stressful, but then to add confusion to the mix it's enough to make a person want to run screaming through the woods.

Don't Panic!

I think the best way to start planning your dream wedding is to dream. Relax, this is suppose to be fun. Build an inspiration board or make a wedding binder. A wedding binder is useful because you can stuff it full of ideas, vendor information, guest lists, and any pictures that put you in a romantic mood! Having everything organized and in one place is going to save you a lot of heartache. And, every time you're browsing through a magazine and see a dress you love or a favor idea that you have to steal rip it out and stick it in a sleeve for safe keeping. Also, I found http://www.theknot.com/ to be a very helpful website. It's filled with tools for budgeting, organizing your guest lists, checking off finished tasks, and even building a website so your guests can learn more about your wedding and any important information that might not be on the invitations. (Your guests can also RSVP through the website which could save you a lot on return stamps!!) It's all about thinking smarter and not harder. Build a foundation of organization, and you'll be better able to take things as they come in a calm, graceful manner.
